Notes and sources
- Talk2me keeps your voice on your machine with a local voice model, the default. If you choose a third-party cloud engine, that provider's policy applies. We recommend Zero Data Retention (ZDR) providers, and the app tags every route "100% private", "Private · ZDR" or "Not private". Talk2me never receives your voice, whatever you choose. To place words correctly, Talk2me reads the text just before your cursor, on your machine; it never leaves it.
- Wispr Flow: model training on by default, cloud transcription and word counts, Context Awareness, internet and account, data in the United States, deleting history, pricing. 2,000 words is about 15 minutes of talking, at 130 to 150 words a minute.
- Superwhisper: privacy, plans and pricing, context.
- Apple Dictation: Ask Siri, Dictation and privacy.
